Chicken Drumsticks With Skin

Description:
Juicy chicken drumsticks with crispy golden-brown skin, marinated in Indian spices that seep deep into the meat. This classic tandoori-style preparation is perfect for family dinners, festive gatherings, or Sunday lunch. The skin locks in juices, making every bite succulent and flavorful.

Ingredients (for 4 people):

  • 8 chicken drumsticks (with skin)

  • ½ cup thick curd (yogurt)

  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp red chili powder

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp cumin powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp mustard oil

  • Salt to taste

Steps to Prepare:

Clean and pat dry the drumsticks. Make 2–3 slits on each for better marination.

In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, spices, lemon juice, mustard oil, and salt.

Coat drumsticks thoroughly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight for best flavor).

Preheat oven to 200°C (or prepare a charcoal grill for smoky flavor).

Place drumsticks on a greased tray, cook for 20–25 minutes, flipping once, until golden and fully cooked.

For a smoky touch, place a small piece of hot charcoal in a bowl, drizzle ghee over it, cover, and let it smoke inside for 2–3 minutes.

Serving Suggestion:
Serve hot with green chutney, onion rings, and lemon wedges. Ideal with naan or jeera rice.
